Artist booking agreement
An artist booking agreement fixes the date, the slot and the fee, when the advance and the balance are paid, who pays travel and stay, what the stage needs, what the act will not say, who may record it, and what happens if either side cancels.
Who signs: The client (a company, an event agency or a family) and the artist, or the agency signing for the artist.
- 02
Agency-to-agency booking
An agency-to-agency booking agreement covers a gig where an event agency books an act from the artist's agency for its own client.
Who signs: The event agency that holds the end client, and the artist's agency. The artist countersigns.
- 03
Artist invoice
An artist's invoice names the artist and the client with their addresses, PAN and GSTIN, gives an invoice number and date, describes the performance, shows the fee, any GST split by type, the total, any advance already received, and the bank details.
Who signs: The artist, or the agency that contracted the gig, sends it to the client.
- 04
Artist management agreement
An artist management agreement sets out what the manager does, the commission and what it is charged on, who collects the client's money and when the artist is paid, whether it is exclusive, how long it lasts, how either side ends it, and which bookings still carry commission after it ends.
Who signs: The artist and the manager or agency.
- 05
Artist listing agreement
A listing agreement covers a performer who is listed by an agency or booking site without being managed by it: what goes on the page, that it is free and not exclusive, the fee on gigs the agency introduces, when the artist is paid, what happens if a client the agency introduced rebooks directly, and how to come off the list.
Who signs: The artist and the agency or site that lists them.
- 06
Performance recording consent
A performance recording consent says what an organiser may record of a live act, where the recording may be used and for how long, how the performer is credited, what edits are allowed, whether the recording may be used to train AI or clone the performer's voice, and how the performer can ask for a clip to come down.
Who signs: The performer and the event organiser or client who wants to record.
- 07
Confidentiality letter
A confidentiality letter for a customised set is a one-page promise from a comedian or host to the company that briefed them: the briefing, the names and the internal jokes are used only to write the set, cleared before the show, kept private afterwards, and the notes destroyed.
Who signs: The artist signs it and gives it to the client.

What contracts does a performer need in India?
One per gig with the client: a booking agreement covering fee, advance, GST, TDS, travel, content, recording and cancellation. One with a manager, if you have one. A recording consent when the event wants to film. An invoice for each payment. These seven templates cover all of it.
Are these artist agreement templates free?
Yes. Download them in Word or PDF, change anything, and use them with any client, manager or agency. No sign-up.
Is a contract signed over email or WhatsApp valid in India?
An agreement accepted electronically can be valid, and electronic signatures are recognised under the Information Technology Act 2000. Stamp duty still applies under your state's Stamp Act.
Are these templates legal advice?
No. They are for education only: general information written by a talent agency, not a law firm, and not legal or tax advice. Have a lawyer or chartered accountant review them for your situation before anyone signs.
